In view of the rainy situation Government of Sindh has announced a holiday on August 18 in all the educational institutions of  province.


Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said in a tweet that in view of heavy rains, today Thursday August 18 has announced a holiday in educational institutions across Sindh.

Sindh Education Minister further said that all private and public educational institutions under the Department of School Education & Colleges will remain closed today i.e. Thursday.

Earlier, in an order issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad it was stated that the Meteorological Department has predicted more rains across Sindh therefore there will-be a holiday in all private and government schools in Hyderabad on August 18.

Similarly in a press release issued by the Board of Higher Secondary Education Karachi, it was stated that in view of the recent rains in the city annual examinations and practicals of the Intermediate on August 18 have-been postponed.

While all the postponed papers will be held on August 25 at the same centers.

In Malir several villages were flooded due to heavy rains a woman drowned

Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Malir Irfan Bahadur said that due to the ongoing heavy rain in Malir several villages were flooded while 1 woman drowned but two children were rescued.

Over 3 hours of heavy rain on the outskirts of Malir & rainwater from the hills of the Kherathar range overflowed the dams & seasonal rivers, resulting in inundation of around 5 villages the senior officer said. The residents were rescued and shifted to safe places.

    Irfan Bahadur said that he had a report of a woman and 2 children drowning in Moreo Khan Goth. When the water level decreased to some extent police & local people pulled out 2 children safely but one woman drowned.
