Anas Malik: Pakistani journalist Anas missing from Kabul embassy raised the matter before the Taliban

 KARACHI : Concern is being expressed on behalf of journalist Anas Malik family journalistic & diplomatic circles after reports of Anas Malik disappearance in Afghanistan.

Mr Anas Malik was associated with Indian Channel  media outlet Wayon News & has been reporting from Afghanistan for quite some time now. He has-been associated with various Pakistani & foreign media organizations in the past.

His last report on Wayon was published about 12Hr ago in which he showed the house in Kabul where al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri lived and was killed in a United States America US drone strike.


Anas Malik reported his return to Afghanistan 02 days ago on Twitter from where he has been reporting on the situation after the United States withdrawal from Afghanistan last year.


His brother MR Hasan Malik told British News Bilal Karim Mughal that Anas  Malik had gone to Afghanistan on Wednesday afternoon & was last contacted at around 12pm that same day while with his fellow journalists. They were last in touch on Thursday.


Hassan Malik said that he has been contacted by the Pakistani embassy in Kabul & has-been assured by the embassy that efforts are being made to recover him.


He appealed to the authorities of Afghanistan and Pakistan to recover Anas Malik as soon as possible.


Several attempts have been made by Mr  Malik Mudassar to contact Taliban Govmt authorities in this regard but no response has been received, while the Pakistani embassy has informed him that he has raised the matter before the senior officials of Afghanistan.


According to the embassy they have been told by Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi that they are trying to recover Anas Malik.

Journalist Mr Mona Khan wrote that our friend and colleague Anas Malik has been missing from Kabul since Thursday afternoon. Pakistani embassy in Kabul has raised this matter before the Taliban government and intelligence. So far they have not been traced and no one has claimed their custody. Both their numbers are closed.
