At least 19 people including 2 drivers & a conductor were killed when a passenger bus of the Sada Bahar Coach Company traveling from Rawalpindi to Quetta fell into a deep gorge near Sherani district of Balochistan in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Sada Bahar Coach Accident site is said to be in the hilly area of ​​Dana Sar which is located within the limits of Dera Ismail Khan district KPK.

According to Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan District  accident took place at around 3.30 am on Sunday. The cause of the accident was slippery road.

Deputy Commissioner Sherani while talking to  British news confirmed that accident took place due to high speed and slipperiness of the passenger sada Bahar Coach  bus going from Rawalpindi to Quetta.


Bus was carrying 33 people. The injured and bodies are being shifted to Zhob & nearby areas.


According to Super Evergreen Company Dana Sar area is a hilly area where lubrication occurs during rains.


It simply came to our notice then. When the driver applied the brakes while taking a turn the Bus vehicle fell into a deep ditch due to slipping.


Videos & photos from crash site show the bus plunged deep into a ditch off the road causing a high death toll.


According to a rescue worker who participated in the rescue operation the Bahar Coach bus fell from a great height & it was somewhat dark at the time of the accident which made it difficult for the locals to reach the spot.

According to the rescue official the operation to transport the injured & the bodies to the road was going on for about 5 hours.


It should be noted that rivers & streams have also flooded due to rains in the border areas of Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


According to the Super Sada bahar Company the majority of passengers on the bus were students & Afghan nationals. Students were returning to their hometowns for holidays at educational institutions while Afghan nationals were returning to Afghanistan. Both  drivers & conductors are from Loralai district of Balochistan province.


According to Rescue 1122 Dera Ismail Khan the work of removing  bodies from the deep ditch has just been completed & they are being shifted to different hospitals. Some bodies have-been identified while others are being identified in hospitals.


According to Dr Noorul Haq MS of Zhob Civil Hospital at least 11 injured people will be brought to him some of whom are in critical condition.

According to the rescue official accidents often occur on this particular road in the rains.

But he said: This is the biggest accident of its kind. During my 3 years of service no accident on this road has claimed so many lives.
