Israeli journalist entered Mecca: Gil Tamari apologized after criticizing report
An Israeli man Gul Tamari & that too in Mecca ? It may seem hard to admit at 1st but Israel's Channel 13 News has surprised everyone with a 10 minute report in which its reporter Gil Tamari visits the sites in the holy city of Mecca Saudi Arabia where Entry of non Muslims is prohibited.
After the broadcast & citicism of this report the Israeli journalist apologized & said that he wanted to show beauty of Mecca & Islam to the world in order to promote religious tolerance.
But an Israeli minister has criticized gil Tamari saying it was a foolish move that has damaged united state US diplomatic efforts for Saudi Israeli relations.
Non Muslims are not allowed to enter Makkah but one person risked his life for me.
Report is presented as a scoop and reads Gil Tamari is the 1st Israeli reporter to enter Mecca.
In the video report Gil Tamari can be seen traveling by car & is accompanied by a local guide whose face has been masked so that he cannot be identified.
In the text attached to the report it is written that after the security check point the Saudi police officer asked us to continue driving towards Mecca. In the distance you can see the huge clock tower of the city with the Kaaba next to it.
It was a stupid move.
After the report surfacedGil Tamari faced criticism online.
Israel's Regional Cooperation Minister Esavi Faraj who is a Muslim, told Israel state broadcaster that I apologize but it was a foolish move to be proud of. Airing this report just for ratings was irresponsible & harmful.
He said the report undermined United State US efforts to restore relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia and undermined diplomatic agreements with the United Arab UAE Emirates & Bahrain.
Riyadh still does not recognize Israel as a state and its support has historically been with Palestine.
After this report was aired the hashtag A Jew in Makkah Grand Mask started trending on Twitter.

My dear friends in Israel one of your journalists entered the holy city of Islam & shamelessly filmed there said Mohammed Saud a Saudi social activist. Channel 13 insulted Islam. This is rude.
Saudi media which is tightly controlled by the government did-not report on it. Reuters contacted the authorities for comment but did not receive a response.
