When I spoke to Abhay Kumar a history professor and columnist at Delhi University about this he said that it was a tragedy in a secular country to target the minority community in this way.

This is a violation of Constitution of India because the Constitution not only gives freedom of worship to all religions but also allows them to preach their religion he said.

Some sectarians are using all sorts of tactics against minorities in India especially Muslims, and they are quietly encouraged by the government move he said.

He said When the Father of the Nation of India, Mahatma Gandhi, can present himself as a devout Hindu and no one objects to his Prarthana Sabha worship gathering then how can others be prevented from doing so?

Abhay Kumar added In capital Delhi every kind of worship is done in a prestigious institution like Jawaharlal Nehru and right-wing people are invited to have their say. They have the support of the administration. When this can happen in Delhi you can imagine what would happen to other distant educational places.
