businessmen : Unidentified gunmen shot dead 2 traders belonging to Sikh community in Batakhel Bazaar area of ​​Sarband KPK police station in Peshawar area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

According to KPK  police 42 year old Kaljit Singh & 38 year old Ranjit Singh were killed in firing. Both belong to Dabgri Garden area & victims have spice shops in Bata Til Bazaar.


According to Syed Shoaib Mansoor District Emergency Officer of Rescue 1122 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa medical team rushed to spot as soon as incident was reported & bodies were shifted to hospital under KPK police supervision for postmortem.


Sikh Businessmen :KPK Police say they have gathered vital evidence from  scene and are examining CCTV cameras in the surrounding area & using human intelligence. According to police a search operation has-been launched in the area & accused involved in incident will-be exposed soon.


It may be recalled that in recent times incidence of targeted killings has-been increasing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Some of  incidents include killing of a priest in Peshawar the killing of 2 traffic policemen in Hangu district killing of three Shias in Dera Ismail Khan & targeted killing of policemen in Kohat & Bannu.

Last year a well known Sikh sage Sardar Satnam Singh was shot dead by unknown individuals in his pharmacy in Peshawar KPK. Sardar Satnam was an expert physician & he won a gold medal in medical education


In February this year Sub Inspector Fayyaz & Constable Sajjad were shot dead by unknown persons while on duty in Nowshera.


Sikh Businesses men Kill : In recent years Sikhs have also been targeted during the war on terror in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa & former tribal districts.

largest number of Sikhs in Pakistan used to live in tribal areas but as a result of the war on terror most of Sikhs have now migrated to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


Kpk : Peshawar is home to a large number of Sikhs including registered voters. Mohalla Jogan Shah in Peshawar is considered to be the Sikh area where members of  Sikh community have-been living since formation of Pakistan. There is also a historical Sikh Gurdwara located here.


Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has condemned the recent incident & directed Inspector General of Police to take necessary action 4 immediate arrest of those involved in murder.


Chief Minister KPK  said that elements involved in this heinous murder could-not escape from clutches of the law & those involved in incident would be arrested soon & brought to justice.

Peshawar business man : Chief Minister Mahmood Khan added that the incident was an attempt to destabilize the peaceful atmosphere & inter religious harmony in  city & KPK government would not allow such efforts to succeed.


He said that KPK government shares the grief of the affected families & Sikh community equally and full justice would be provided to the affected families.
