National Assembly passed a bill to repeal the former government amendments to  Electronic Voting Machine &  Overseas Pakistanis voting.

Islamabad: Election Amendment Bill 2022 was introduced in National Assembly. bill was introduced by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr Murtaza Javed Abbasi. Speaking in House Qaim Khani said that strong election commission & strong law has always been needed we have always-been affected in this matter in elections amendments that have-been brought were need of hour.


Mr Sabir Qaim Khani said that it is important to seek the opinion of parties which are not represented in this House. If the bill passed in 2017 is returned we will support it.

Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar while addressing the House said that amendment was made to conduct elections through electronic voting machine. He raised many objections in the Election Commission on EVM. Passed when bill came in Senate it was sent to committee.

 Mr Azam Nazir Tarar said that we have held many meetings on it bill was passed by bulldozing  rules but it is not possible to hold elections through electronic voting machines all over the country at the same time.


He said that today agenda is quite long National Accountability Bureau NAB amendment bill will also be passed today while a parliamentary committee has-been formed 4 electoral reforms all political parties are represented in the committee, only they are included in the committee. Not the ones who are setting fire to trees and property outside. The National Assembly session passed clause by clause approval of the bill to amend  Election Act 2017 & after the passage of bill amendments of the former government regarding electronic voting machine and voting of overseas Pakistanis. Are over.
