Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM has nominated Nasreen Jalil for  governorship of Sindh.

Nasreen Jalil : MQM Federal Minister Faisal Sabzwari told CCR News that Nasreen Jalil name has-been given on priority basis while other candidates include MQMP  senior deputy convener Amir Khan former mayor Wasim Akhtar Kishore Zehra Amir. Chishti is included.

MQM nominates Nasreen Jalil for Sindh governor

At the time of joining the united opposition the MQM had written agreements with the opposition and the Pakistan People Party while 2 sides had also given assurances to each other. Supported  no confidence motion.

Nasreen Jalil :After General Pervez Musharraf came to power MQMP sided with him &  his grip on the urban areas of Sindh was strengthened. Exiled MQMP leader Dr Ishratul Ebad was appointed as the Governor of Sindh. He held this position from 27 December 2002 to 10 November 2016.

MQMP has been given 2 ministries in the federal government & will now be given  governorship for partnership in the government.

Nasreen Jalil & her husband MA Jalil have been long time MQMP workers. MA Jalil held the post of Sindh Education Minister while Nasreen Jalil was the Deputy Mayor of Karachi city government from 2005 to 2010. Besides she was also a Senator from 2012 to 2018.

Earlier Nasreen Jalil was objected to by some quarters. According to local media reports Nasreen Jalil had written a letter to  Indian embassy due to which objections are being raised in her name.

Nasreen Jalil :It may be recalled that the MQM had sent letters signed by Nasreen Jalil to more than 50 embassies around the world including the Indian embassy. The letter provided information on  enforced disappearance of MQMP workers.
