No confidence motion successful Imran Khan is no longer Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD Pakistan: The no confidence motion filed by the United Opposition has been successful after which Imran Khan is no longer the Prime Minister. After resignation of Speaker Asad Qaiser Acting Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq completed the voting process on the no-confidence motion.
Islamabad National Assembly : On the orders of the Supreme Court a meeting of the National Assembly was convened under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at 10.30 am, in which members of the opposition and government delivered speeches. However, no action could be taken on the no-confidence motion till 11.30 pm.
172 votes were cast in support of the no confidence motion while deviant members of PTI Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did not cast their votes in the no confidence motion.
Asad Qaiser resigns
The meeting took a dramatic turn when Speaker Asad Qaiser chaired the meeting for the fifth time after meeting the Prime Minister and announced his resignation, after which Ayaz Sadiq took over the rest of the House.
Following the resignation of Asad Qaiser members of government chanted anti US & anti government slogans and boycotted the House in protest.
