March 15 International Day Against Islamophobia UN OIC Resolution Passed 

International Day will be observed to condemn the increase in intolerance and discrimination against Muslims & other minorities in  West India and other parts of the world.

Pakistan will also join the Muslim world to celebrate this day as the country has emerged as one of the leading actors in raising voice against Islamophobia.

The credit for introducing Anti Islamophobia Day on March 15 also goes to  Pakistani leadership as the country presented a resolution at the 47th meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers in November 2020 in Niger Niger.

Since then  57 member OIC has been working with the international community to celebrate the day globally.

On global platforms including the UN General Assembly Prime Minister Imran Khan called on the world to take action against Islamophobia and called on world leaders to collectively work to counter the growing trend in non Muslim states. Work out

Recently Prime Minister welcomed Trudeau's plan to appoint a special envoy to-combat Islamophobia calling it a modern curse.

Imran Khan also lauded Russian President Vladimir Putins recent strong statement that freedom of expression could not be an excuse to insult the Prophet.

In his address to the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Imran Khan has regularly highlighted the alarming rise in Islamophobia and the hatred associated with it pointing out its serious implications.

By celebrating this day Pakistan intends to highlight the challenges that Islamophobia poses to Muslims around the world.

The scourge of Islamophobia has led to negative profiling aggression by cow guards discriminatory lawsattacks on women wearing hijabs banning of minarets, and attempts to link & equate Islam with terrorism. The 48th OIC Foreign Ministers Meeting to be held in Islamabad on March 22-23 2022 will present opportunities to discuss issues and enhance cooperation.

For decadesMuslim communities Indias largest minority group have been subjected to discrimination and sectarian violence under the Hindu nationalist BJP government particularly the Citizenship Amendment Act CAA. Has been corrupted by In House of 543 Indian Parliament has 27 Muslim MPs. But none of them are from  BJP which has a handful of MPs in  upper house.

Similarly since the 9/11 terrorist attacks in United States and the 7/7 terrorist attacks in  United Kingdom Muslims have been increasingly targeted by Islamophobia attacks.

OIC countries must call on all states including legal & administrative measures to stop any advocacy of religious discrimination hostility or violence & defamation of Islam & to end attacks and hate crimes against Muslims & their places of worship. Investigate.
