What is Brahmos?
The BrahMos Missile Indian Defense Research and Development Organization and Russia NPO. This is the result of a joint effort by Machinestrae Anya in 1998.
Brahmos is a combination of two words. These are the names of two rivers. The Indian river Brahmaputra and the river Mosskov flowing in western Russia.
Maximum speed of the BrahMos missile is 2.8 matches approximately 3 450 kilometers per hour or 2,148 miles per hour. It is difficult to stop it with anti missile system.
It also has the potential to evade a variety of radar aircraft and flying object detection systems.
BrahMos is capable of cruising at an altitude of 15 km in the air and at least 10 m above ground. The missile is capable of carrying 200 to 300 kilograms non-nuclear conventional explosives.
BrahMos is a two-stage missile. It is fitted with a solid fuel boosting engine that in the first stage produces extremely high speeds and takes the missile supersonicie, faster than sound at high speeds before it detaches from its explosive part. After which the liquid RAM jet airborne aircraft system is activated and moves the missile closer to the 'Match 3 velocity phase.
It is used on the principle of run and forget. The path to its goal is not constantly monitored.
What are the latest developments in the development of BrahMos missile technology?
In November 2020 India began a series of tests of the Brahuas Super Sank Cruise Missile. Work was also underway to increase his shooting distance. According to Indian news website ThePrint, India wants to increase the missile's range to 1,500 km. This missile can be launched from land, sea and air.
Indian media has reported that Brahuis is the only supersonic cruise missile in the world that can fly at three times the speed of sound 2.8 matches. Its range marking distance is 290 km which it is trying to increase to 400 km.
At the beginning of BrahMoss practical experiments, the first 290 km range test was performed on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Navy and Air Force The Su 30MKI fighter jets are equipped with Braus and these experiments are likely to take place this week.
