IPL 2022: Many players will not be available at the start of IPL 2022
The three-match Test series on Australia's tour of Pakistan will end on March 25. After that, Australia has to play three ODIs and one T20 International in Rawalpindi.
In an email sent to the teams on Wednesday, the IPL said that Cricket Australia had allowed players from all three formats to leave for the tour of Pakistan only after April 6. At the same time, the board has informed the IPL that all the players of the teams playing in the Sheffield Shield final from March 31 will be able to fly for this competition only after April 5.
As far as the South African players are concerned, Cricket South Africa has told the IPL that their players will be busy in the series against Bangladesh during the tournament. The tour will start with three ODIs between March 18 and 23, followed by two Tests between March 30 and April 11. The board has not yet announced the teams for the tour.
The unavailability of several key players will affect the 10 teams that are busy preparing for the big IPL auction in Bangalore this weekend. Warner and Rabada are among the marquee players at the start of the auction.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket West Indies have also made it clear that their players will not be available until March 28.
In such a scenario, many big names, including Johnny Barstow and Jason Holder, who are the focus of IPL teams, may be out of the first week of the competition. At the same time, the ECB has said that its players will have to return home after May 29 to play in the Test series against New Zealand.
West Indies will also play a series of limited overs matches against the Netherlands. However, the board has not made it clear whether it will recall its players from the IPL.

The IPL has also said that Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not be available between May 8 and 23. Meanwhile, Bangladesh will play two Test matches against Sri Lanka. The team will also tour South Africa in March-April. In that case, the teams must think twice before buying them.
