Mr Bill Gates first visit to Pakistan meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Bill Gates founder of Microsoft and co chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Prime Minister House on Thursday.
This is the first visit of Bill Gates one of
richest people in the world, to Pakistan and according to reports he-will leave for the United States this evening.
After arriving in Islamabad Bill Gates visited the Anti Polio Program Center where he was briefed by Dr. Shehzad Baig Head of the Program on the steps being taken to eradicate polio from the country.
Bill Gates was informed that there has been a significant decrease in polio cases in Pakistan & one case of polio has been reported in country this year.
Imran Khan also hosted a luncheon in honor of Bill Gates which was attended by federal ministers.
Bill Gates also visited the National Command and Operations Center NCOC an organization that monitors coronavirus caseswhere NCOS chief Asad Omar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health Dr. Faisal Sultan introduced the bill. Gates was welcomed.
According to NCOC officials Bill Gates praised the smart lockdown policy in Pakistan for dealing with the corona virus.
Bill Gates praised Pakistan efforts to prevent polio and assured the country of continued cooperation in-eradicating polio.
Earlier in September 2019 the founder of Microsoft met with PM Imran Khan in New York in which the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation agreed to provide 20 200 million to Pakistan for the implementation of the Ehsas program.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bill Gates have had several telephone conversations over the past three years to discuss anti polio coronavirus & poverty alleviation measures.
