After the hunting video went viral, Ketch's administration took action and arrested one of the hunters.

Bahram Baloch, a senior journalist from Gwadar district, said that the area where poaching took place was Pedrak area in Shadi Kaur.

Following the virality of these videos and photos, people on social networking sites have reacted strongly and demanded action in this regard.

One user, Nadeem Ferozi, wrote, “Rare animals and birds like deer, rabbits and swords were brutally hunted in the Shadi Kaur river area by influential people of Balochistan Turbat. The faces of the hunters can be seen in the video. What action will be taken against them? '

"Stop the wildlife genocide and protect it," said Naeema, a female user.

Balochistan Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Baledi said in a tweet that the wildlife genocide would be investigated and legal action would be taken.

In which areas of Balochistan are the hunted animals found?

When contacted, Niaz Kakar, Conservator of the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of Balochistan, said that the deer seen in the video are common deer that are found in hot areas of Balochistan. Apart from Ketch, these areas include Sibi, Jhal Magsi, Khuzdar and Lasbela.

He said that the government has also started a scheme to save and increase the deer breed in some areas.

He said that rabbits are also seen in the videos. He said that like common deer, these wild rabbits are also found in different parts of Balochistan.

He said that the birds seen in the video are sword which is a migratory bird.

Niaz Kakar said that Talwar travels from Russia to warmer regions this season, including different parts of Balochistan.

He said that as far as the sword being slaughtered with tags on its legs was concerned, it was probably one of those swords which was started by Arab sheikhs.

He said the Arabs had set up a farm in Morocco to breed the sword.

He said the tagged sword could be one of the farm swords that the Arabs may have left on this route.

What action has been taken against the accused?

Forest Department Conservator Niaz Kakar said that after the video went viral, Deputy Commissioner Ketch took notice and ordered action against those involved in poaching.

He said one of the poachers, Aqib, a local arms dealer, had been arrested.

He said that apart from sealing the arms shop of the arrested accused, his license has also been revoked.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qaddos Bizenjo has taken notice of illegal hunting and deforestation in Turbat and demanded a report from Commissioner Makran.

In a statement, the Chief Minister directed to strictly prevent poaching and ensure protection of wildlife in all cases and directed action against the elements involved in poaching under the Wildlife Protection Act.

"No one should be allowed to risk the environment for their own entertainment and financial gain," he said.
