An attack on a military hospital in the city has killed more than 20 people and injured at least 16, a health ministry official in Kabul told the BBC.

Eyewitnesses say the attackers then entered the hospital.


Taliban spokesman Bilal Karimi told the BBC that militants from the Islamic State of Khorasan first blew up the hospital gate and entered the hospital compound.


According to Block Karimi, Taliban fighters have killed five Islamic State militants in Khorasan.
