According to Express News, prominent nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has passed away at the age of 85. He was ill for a long time. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was diagnosed with corona virus on August 26. Later, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was admitted to the coveted ward of Kahuta Research Laboratory Hospital due to critical condition. His death has been confirmed by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.


Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was instrumental in making Pakistan a nuclear power and making its defense invincible.

Pakistani politicians, the creators of the Pakistani atomic bomb, were born into an Urdu-speaking Pashtun family in Bhopal, India. Abdul Qadeer Khan returned to Pakistan in 1976 after living in Europe for 15 years, studying at the Technical University of West Berlin, the University of Delft in the Netherlands and the University of Leuven in Belgium.


Abdul Qadeer Khan participated in the Pakistani nuclear program of "Engineering Research Laboratories" on May 31, 1976 at the invitation of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto after obtaining Masters of Science from the Netherlands and Doctorate of Engineering from Belgium. Later, the name of this institute was changed by the President of Pakistan General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq on May 1, 1981 to 'Dr. AQ Khan Research Laboratories'. It is a major player in uranium enrichment in Pakistan. Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan founded Kixat in November 2000.


While inspecting modern conventional missiles, Abdul Qadeer Khan was prosecuted by the Dutch government for accidentally stealing important information, but when professors from the Netherlands, Belgium, Britain and Germany reviewed the allegations, they acquitted Abdul Qadeer Khan. Recommending to do so, he said that the information on which the case has been filed for theft is in the public books; after which the Dutch Supreme Court honorably acquitted him.


Abdul Qadeer Khan is a renowned scientist who, in a very short span of eight years, worked tirelessly to install a nuclear plant to the amazement of world-renowned Nobel Prize-winning scientists.
