The attacks killed four people in the Chandpur area of Bangladesh.
In Bangladesh, several Durga Puja venues were vandalized and at least 150 families belonging to the minority Hindu community were attacked after violence erupted over a Facebook post on alleged desecration of the Koran.
Following the incident, several organizations in the Indian state of West Bengal strongly condemned the violence on Wednesday night. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has demanded an inquiry into the matter,
Meanwhile, BJP's social media chief Amit Malaviya has said on the attack on Durga Puja sites in Bangladesh that "religious freedom of Hindus in Bangladesh is in danger".

Sheikh Hasina has said that there should be nothing in India that would affect our country and Hindus in our country would face difficulties. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh said this on Thursday while congratulating Hindus on the occasion of Durga Puja at Dhakishori Temple in the capital Dhaka. The Prime Minister attended the pooja through video conferencing.
Sheikh Hasina has also asked the Hindus of Bangladesh not to consider themselves a minority and continue to perform their rituals like people of other religions. Sheikh Hasina said that people of all religions were born in this soil and they have been brought up here.
According to Bangladesh's leading English newspaper, the Dhaka Tribune, Sheikh Hasina said it did not matter what religion the perpetrators belonged to. The Prime Minister said that the culprits would be caught and punished.
Dhaka Shrine is the largest temple in Bangladesh and the capital Dhaka is named after it. In 2018, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated 1.5 bighas of land to the Dhakishori Hindu Temple in the capital Dhaka on the occasion of Durga Puja.
